Get Ready For the Upcoming Annular Eclipse on May 20th

Next month, on May 20th, there will be an annular solar eclipse, visible from parts of Asia, and the western United States.

An annular solar eclipse is not a “total” eclipse, so the moon will not completely block the Sun. Instead, the Sun will look like a very bright ring (also known as an “annulus”), like in the photo on the right (which was taken during the annular solar eclipse of October 3rd, 2005). Learn About the Mighty Mississippi River In a New Documentary from Nat Geo WILD

This past weekend, I had an opportunity to watch a new mini-series from National Geographic: Wild Mississippi. I grew up just a few hours away from the Mississippi River, so it was nice to learn more about it.

The three part series will premiere on Nat Geo WILD this Sunday, February 12, at 8 PM ET.

Amazing Photograph of the Earth

Today, NASA released an incredible “blue marble” image of the Earth. It was created by combining a bunch of smaller photos to create one massive 64-megapixel image (8,000×8,000 pixels).
